We are now very busy working towards the Cockfield Produce, Flower and Craft Show on Sunday 8th September in the Village Hall, full details will be in next month’s Green Links. The entry form (with the correct cookery classes) starts on page 31. We hope you will make an entry, or two, and pop along to see the wonderful array of produce, flowers and craft.
As the Community Council is 50 this year and as part of the Village Show on September 8th we are planning a look back over the past 50 years, could anyone with any memorabilia of the past 50 years, old photos etc, please contact Janne on community.council@cockfield.org.uk and we will arrange to get them copied for display.
The Show itself will be concentrating on the Flower, Fruit, Produce and Craft side of things but there will also be teas, side stalls, a raffle and the all important plant stall.
We mustn’t forget about the Monthly Country and Western Dances which start again Saturday 7th September with Kevin Barry. Tickets are on the door and are £6.00 each, the doors open at 7pm , there is also a bar and BBQ.
And now for the biggie! Saturday 16th November an evening with the Bee Gees. The tribute band – Bee Gees Disco Night Fever Band is booked and will be a rocking evening so keep the date free, tickets will soon be available from Cockfield Post Office or from Janne on 01284 828264.
The year will close with Carols on the Green on December 17th.
Cockfield Community Cinema is showing Fisherman’s Friends on Friday 23rd August with the next Cinema evening on Friday 27th September. Tickets are £4.50 on the door and along with the bar there are teas and coffees as well as ice-creams and sweets.
Waste paper collection the next waste paper collection will be on Sundays July 28th and 25th August, as usual, collections will start at 9.00 am. Please leave your papers out for the collectors.
