All meetings are held on the 3rd Monday of the month at 19.15 for 19.30 at Thorpe Morieux Village Hall unless stated otherwise.
Membership for the year is £10 per person
Admission, including refreshments, is £2 Members and £3 for Visitors

The Club & Its Philosophy
There was a time, when on a quiet stroll through a country village, vegetable patches could be viewed over garden fences with vegetables growing in neat rows proudly maintained and displayed provided food for the family. Sadly perhaps the same stroll today would reveal mechanically mown lawns with beds of pretty flowers imported from a local garden centre and family food obtained from the supermarket. This does not mean that the population of England no longer care about gardens. A plot of land is still a great asset and its appearance is very important tending to display the owners love of the countryside so much enjoyed by all of us. Gardening programmes on the media and family outings to the garden centre or to the nations open garden schemes have become popular pastimes.
Today’s garden club reflects these changes .Some gardeners love a life in wellington boots, back ache and dirt under the finger nails while others love looking at gardens discussing layout, form and colour whilst seated enjoying a cup of tea. Townspeople love their allotments which can cover all aspects of gardening and provide shared joy of a quiet weekend in summer. Club members can enjoy learning from the skill of others whilst proudly displaying the results of their own labours.
Thorpe Morieux Gardening Club has changed over the years to follow gardening trends yet maintained many traditions such as having an annual plant sale and enjoying a quiz with our neighbours of Lavenham Gardening Club. The regular activities include Talks from well known experts on the many aspects of gardening as well as other interesting countryside lovers’ topics. Club trips to well known gardens are included. An annual garden party in one of the member’s gardens adds to the experience. Competitions still exist but are of a smaller member’s only style which conclude each meeting. Friendship and enjoyment through love of a shared interest form the core of the clubs existence.
