Fine words have already been written about the show and you can find them in the Community Council Newsletter but I that I should add my own personal thanks.
When people come along to the show I wonder if they realise how much work has gone into this event for months in advance by many individuals and organisations behind the scenes. You can have all the sunshine in the world but a successful event relies on the planning and preparation and we are so grateful to everyone who worked so hard to make this show a great success.
Thank you to the two businesses who sponsored and contributed to the show’s expenses. To Barbara and Caroline Ruffell for once again lending their lovely gardens and barn. To the father and son team who worked before during and after the event. To all the stallholders, to the man who prepared the meadow ( complete with natural effects) so that visitors could park their cars, to the organising committee and to the many volunteers who spent the day working so that others could enjoy themselves.
Thanks also to exhibitors, judges, those who entertained us and, of course, those who simply came along on the day to support.
The next show is on Sunday September 10th 2017. It’s never too early to volunteer to get involved.
When the show ended I looked around the area, stalls, chairs, tables and all the paraphernalia which had to be packed away. I surveyed the scene with tiredness but knew that it had to be done and I was amazed at the people who jumped in, scurried around and cleared it so that by 6PM you could not tell that the show had ever existed.
My thanks to each and every one of you.
