As part of the independent charity ‘Suffolk Libraries’, the Friends of Lavenham Library is one of 44 groups in Suffolk, each supporting a local library.
The Friends of Lavenham Library want to encourage involvement from all parts of the community, young and old in Lavenham and the surrounding villages. The more people who support the library, the stronger and more successful it will be.
During the past few months, the Library has undergone a refurbishment – if you haven’t visited recently, please do so!
There is free wi-fi (partially funded by the Friends) and computers for public use, and we also offer scanning, printing and photocopying facilities.
The Lavenham Friends Group has recently initiated a home library service for elderly people in Lavenham and is looking to expand this in the surrounding villages.
It also develops links with both Lavenham and Cockfield schools. We plan further events and activities during the year.
Joining the ‘Friends’ is absolutely free and gives you an opportunity to have your say about the library service and even become involved in activities.
Why not join our mailing list and receive occasional updates? Just leave your contact details when next visiting the library or call 01787 247729 or write to FoLL, c/o The Library, Village Hall, Lavenham, CO10 9QT.
