Cockfield village Carpet Bowls Club invites you to give carpet bowls a try, at Cockfield village hall on Monday 21 August from 7.30pm until 9.30pm. We will be hosting an Open Evening to allow anyone to come along and try out carpet bowling. It will be a friendly, sociable evening with teas and coffees and cake provided.
Carpet bowls is a very sociable, friendly, gentle paced game that people of all ages and physical condition can play. It does take some skill (gained after practise) and the tactics involved are fascinating.
We play at the village hall, on a Monday night (although matches can be on other nights of the week too). We compete in both the Suffolk and Bury St Edmunds leagues, throughout the winter and have been reasonably successful last season, coming third in the leagues.
We are always looking out for new members to join us; it matters not whether you just wish to play socially, on a Monday evening or want to compete in our matches. So if you already play or would like to start please do come down and join us. You can contact me at the details below so I can let you know more.
Go on, give it a try!
